WINTERSTEIGER relies on international expertise: Pierre Bilgeri, a manager with global leadership experience, will take over as CEO of the Upper Austrian-based worldwide operating machine and plant manufacturer in November.

Pierre Bilgeri will become the new CEO of WINTERSTEIGER Holding AG on November 1. He will take on the dual role of CEO and CFO. His predecessor, Dr. Florestan von Boxberg, will be joining the Supervisory Board as Deputy Chairman in December. Thomas Fürkötter will remain CTO and CIO of the group, which has around 1,200 employees worldwide and a turnover of nearly 250 million euros.

“I am very much looking forward to my new responsibilities at WINTERSTEIGER. I am impressed by the pioneering spirit, innovative strength, and above all the great commitment of the team,” said Pierre Bilgeri in an initial statement. “Together, we will face the current challenges on the global market and successfully shape the next steps in our development.”

Focus on international market development

Born in Vorarlberg and raised in Austria, Asia, England, and Switzerland, Bilgeri is an experienced executive with positions in North America, Central Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. Over the past five years, Bilgeri has headed the mobile and crawler crane business segment for the Liebherr Group in the USA, achieving a significant increase in turnover. Key to success for him are profitable growth through operational excellence, sustainable customer satisfaction, international market development, and not least, an outstanding working environment.

“In Mr. Bilgeri, we are gaining a senior executive who not only has international management experience, but also shares our values and vision,” enthuses outgoing CEO Dr. Florestan von Boxberg. “I am confident that Mr. Bilgeri will bring important new impetus with his professional expertise and positive attitude.”

Bilgeri is a graduate of the International School of Lausanne in Switzerland and Royal Holloway University of London. The 36-year-old is married and has one son. In his spare time, the FIS-certified ski instructor enjoys sports, spending time in nature, and traveling.

Prospects for growth and digitalization

Despite the current market challenges, WINTERSTEIGER is looking positively into the future. On October 1, the company acquired the “Sports Rental” software from the German-based SR Software GmbH & Co. KG for its Sports Division. This is an important milestone for the Rent & Service business segment and opens up new prospects for growth, digitalization, and customer access. “We are continuing to invest in the future of ski rental: innovatively, digitally, and in close cooperation with our customers,” comments Boxberg.
