Engineering is the process of designing and integrating all system components before the final plant is built. The following (anonymized) excerpts from different concepts demonstrate how WINTERSTEIGER deploys our engineering expertise to solve a wide range of requirements from a cramped factory environment to a sensitive component.
Complex line in a small space
Existing hall, low ceiling height, no space for standard layouts: a challenge that conventional suppliers cannot overcome. WINTERSTEIGER instead plans lines with compressed material flows and a compact configuration that fit into the existing structure, preventing the need for a new building. A cost-effective plant concept is developed from these restrictions.
Special machine for multiple variants
A large number of product variants, short cycle times, and a need to retool machinery quickly are the daily realities for many manufacturers. WINTERSTEIGER designs machines and cells that can switch between variants without time-consuming changeover work. The mechanical systems, control systems, and sensor technology are designed as one with this goal in mind from the very beginning.
Material-specific gripping & handling concept
Sensitive, bulky, or heavy components require a specially developed gripping and handling concept. WINTERSTEIGER designs special kinematics and gripping systems that guide the material through the line reliably and without any damage.
