WINTERSTEIGER solutions for thin-cutting
WINTERSTEIGER is the world leader in thin-cutting technology for wood processing. We combine mechanical engineering, saw blade expertise, and process know-how to create end-to-end product solutions designed for maximum material efficiency, high repeatability, and cost-effective series production.
WINTERSTEIGER's advantages for...
Wood processors
Flooring producers
Furniture and solid wood manufacturers
Thin-cutting band saws for flexible manufacturing solutions
Thin-cutting band saws offer flexible solutions for various production requirements. They combine high cutting precision with fast retooling and are particularly suitable for flooring, furniture components, and glued wood.
Thin-cutting frame saws for maximum yield
Thin-cutting frame saws are specially designed to ensure maximum use of the material. They enable a narrow kerf, precise cutting, and a consistently high level of quality in lamella production.
Saw blades for precise cuts
The quality of thin-cutting is heavily dependent on the tool used. WINTERSTEIGER develops band and frame saw blades in-house, tailoring each one to the specific machine, material, and application.
Automation solutions for downstream processing
Thin-cutting often serves as the starting point for downstream manufacturing operations. That is why WINTERSTEIGER is promoting efficient series production by expanding its saw technologies to include modern automation solutions and TRC systems for wood surface repair.
HEMA Cutting Systems
A different material, but the same idea: cutting accuracy still has a direct impact on material yield, dimensional accuracy, and efficiency with insulation materials and composites. HEMA Cutting Systems, part of the WINTERSTEIGER Group since 2022, applies the thin-cutting principle to materials such as Rockwool™, PU foam, Nomex®, Kevlar®, and technical composites. The result is accurate cuts, clean surfaces, and reproducible part geometries – including for complex contours and fully automated production lines.
Reference project: thin-cutting in practice
Pfiffer Bútor in Hungary shows the extent to which thin-cutting can improve profitability. Rising raw material costs meant the door manufacturer was looking for a solution that would enable them to get more lamellas out of the same material, while at the same time guaranteeing the necessary level of precision for their 3-layer door. A WINTERSTEIGER thin-cutting band saw enabled Pfiffer Bútor to boost their lamella output by up to 30 % with a cutting width of 350 mm, precise lamella thicknesses, and more predictable, resource-efficient processes.
