Pohlcon GmbH is one of the leading German system suppliers for the construction industry. Established from the company H-Bau Technik founded in 1977, Pohlcon GmbH has pooled all its activities (underfloor systems, mounting channels, formwork tubes, sealing systems) under a single roof since 2022. Around 1,000 employees working at sites in Berlin, Trebbin, and Klettgau supply the construction industry with industrially manufactured connection and installation solutions every day.

The initial situation: when capacity, quality, and working conditions come under pressure at the same time

Several challenges arose all at once on the formwork tubes prefabrication line at the factory in Klettgau. Capacity bottlenecks and quality fluctuations were putting the brakes on throughput while high personnel overheads and long waiting times were driving up manufacturing costs. Working conditions were impacted on a daily basis by the dust and noise at the cutter station. Waldemar Giebelhaus, Team Lead Formwork Tubes, needed a solution that would deliver on all three levels at the same time – and quickly.

The solution: PSM 2500 from HEMA Cutting Systems

The PSM 2500 contour cutting machine impressed with its short lead time and a price-performance ratio that could withstand any comparison. The plant was deliberately repositioned on installation, which not only optimized machine operation, but also improved the entire material flow in the prefabrication area.

Higher feed speeds achieve a noticeable increase in throughput. Overtime is reduced without any additional personnel.

Constant dimensional accuracy and cutting quality are guaranteed. Quality fluctuations that used to increase the scrap rate are a thing of the past.

The PSM 2500 is significantly quieter. The new deduster is noticeably more effective at removing fine particles – a direct win for employees working at the cutter station.
